A smoke after ...
According to Federica Giulietti everybody deserves to be loved. And I couldn't agree more - just because your a big red demon from Hell, or a petite girl who has killed her family in a fire, you STILL need some love!
Return to Chengdou
And Mark Masztal returns with a cool picture of my favorite BPRD guy: Johann! Here's what Mark has to say:
This time around it's the Ectoplasmic Man himself, Johann Kraus. I like to call this piece; Return to Chengdou.

Johann - revamp?
Here's a great one of Johann - a little different from what we are used to, but hey - I like it!!! :-) It's brought to us by Kevin Gentilcore who's work you can also check out at DA!
PosterBoy
Here we got Rhoald Marcellus and a great poster-like piece of H.B. Great style - and don't forget to check out his gallery on DA for more coolness!
Hellboy Playing Around with some Tentacle's
Here's a really great painting by Grahan Carrick. Check out his gallery for some very interesting stuff!
Fishy
The next picture in David Petersen's serie is of everyones favorite fish dreamer, Abe Sapiens. (I hope everyone is following Abe's "first solo" adventure in The Dreaming!)
And here's a little useless info for you; I'm danish, and in danish "Abe" means "monkey", so I've always thought it was kinda funny that "Abe the fishman" would be "Abe the monkeyman" if you did a direct translation ... and considering that Hellboy is often referred to as a monkey - oh well ... :)

Electra and a grumpy old red demon
Here we got the last of Yassir S.Rasan Electra/Hellboy pictures ... Hopefully Yassir will return with more! :-)
Ectoplasmic Johann
I have to say that Johann is one of my favorite characters of the entire BPRD, and David Petersen has made an excelent portrait of him. I think it's fantastic that Johann is in the new movie, and his new suite is ... interesting! I'm very excited to see how that turns out.

Hellboy/Electra team-up
Here we got another Hellboy/Electra team-up by Yassir S.Rasan ... and as he says "I like to draw hellboy & Elektra - they are cool together" :-)
Fiction?
Here's another one by David Petersen, who this time brings us Lobster Johnson ... or LoJo, as he's referred to by the MTV generation.

Lobster Johnson 1941
I love this picture!!! The way Keez Lagerweij has mixed a photo and own 2d drawing into one unique picture is just fantastic. I would love to see more!
Here's what Keez has to say:
In my art thread on the hellboy forum I aim to pick up tips & feedback for comic drawing (aside from sharing unhealthy love for anything Mignola/Hellboy/B.P.R.D.), as on the "Hellboard" they sure know their stuff. This Lobster Johnson dabble is kinda special, since it not really drawn (it's a real photo!) and because it's inspired by Simon Whitelaw a.k.a. pimpernel his superb art. So there, for everyone to enjoy or even comment on this ultacool blog!
The Odd Couple
Here's a match in ... well, somewhere! The awesome animated styled picture here comes from Yassir S.Rasan, who's DA gallery has lots more to offer. I'll be showing more of his Hellboy pictures the next couple of days.
Run, Hellboy, run!
Here's another funny picture by Ben Boling. I can't stress enough how funny I think his style is ... Ben, please make a comic! :-)
Who may I say is calling?
If you ever drop by a comicshop you may have noticed a book called Mouse Guard (which has just been nominated for two Eisner Awards!)by superstar David Petersen. Turns out David is also a huge Hellboy fan, and he has send me a bunch of extremely cool pictures of Big Red and other characters from BPRD. Here is the first one, and the rest will follow over the next days.
Don Hellboy
Check out the linework on this one by Rodrigo!!! For some reason the face on the left reminds me of some italian mafioso ... imagine that, for a minute. ;-) Hellboy being raised by the mafia, instead for Bruttenholm ... funny!

Katharine Isabelle as Liz Sherman
Here we have the last (so far) of Simon Whitelaw awesome photoserie. Hopefully he'll return with more from the BPRD cast ... Roger, anyone? Johann might be too hard (yes, Simon, that's a challenge!) :-)
Here's what Simon had to say about this one:
Don't get me started on how miscast Selma Blair is in Hellboy. I used Katharine Isabelle (or here) instead, who just IS Sherman.
I wanted her dressed the way she is in the comics, which proved much harder to do than i imagined initially. I HATE manippng clothes cos it's so damn hard to make all the textures and wrinkles and stuff match. Her top half was made up of about a dozen Anna Paquin pics... the belt was made from scratch... no idea where the trousers came from.
Dirty Boy (what?)
I just love Ben Boling's version of Hellboy - a nice, dirty and gritty one. This is the kind of demon beast that would hang around a bar most the time. I would read that comic! :-) Also, check out Ben's DA gallery for more crazy stuff.
Big Red breaking stuff ... again!
Here we got a nice and moody picture by Alan Gallo.
As always, go check this guys gallery out, he's got some very, very cool stuff there!
"Come on Hellboy light my fire ... we can set the night on FIRE!"
Here we got a little something from Rick Cortes. Check out his website to see a bunch more Hellboy inspired pieces!!!

Old Grumpy ...
Here is a picture from Evan Spears ... I'll advice everyone to go check out his DA-gallery - there are some very sweet illustrations there!!!
Takeshi Kitano as Ben Daimio
Another picture in the BPRD serie from Simon Whitelaw, this one with everyones favorite were-jaguar boss!
Here's what Simon has to say:
Hellboy and BPRD are without doubt my favourite comics of all time, so i had to do some fan art eventually.
Ben Daimio to start with. He is/was technically the team leader a little while after the departure of Hellboy. He has a chunk of face missing, and turns out he is a were-jaguar. I love the guy.
I used Takeshi Kitano.
I wanted to mimic Mike Mignola's habit of putting a frieze or a relief behind his characters in pinups and covers, so i used a Mayan frieze behind Daimio. It doesn't featue a jaguar god, but it was the closest i could get really.
JUMP !!!
This is tha last of the serie John Thompson send me!!! Classic scene with Big Red jumping into "something" that's going to leav him "sore in the morning"!
Hellboy vs. Devilman
This cool scene comes from Kunkka - check out his DA-gallery for more waaaay cool images (and pretty girlies)!!!

Hellboy Vs Aliens
Hellboy vs. Aliens ... HELL YEAH!!! I would read that!!! This very cool picture come from Lyndon Webb - and I've got a couple more that I'll be showing the next couple of days. Don't forget to check his website out!!!
Amanda Tapping as Kate Corrigan
Kate is one of my very favorite characters in BPRD (and I thought it was a scandale that she was not included in Del Toros movies) ... anyway, here's another picture in Simon Whitelaw BPRD serie, and here is what he had to say himself:
Kate is probably one of the best characters in BPRD, despite being totally normal and relatively boring. Her character is so well observed it's impossible not to like her.
I used Amanda Tapping. Despite being in over a hundred seasons of Stargate i was unable to find a single useable picture or screencap of Tapping wearing fatigues, bizarrely. I had to create them from scratch, which was a pain in the arse.
A walk in the park
Heres another piece by John Thompson. This time John is working in ink, which I have to say, he does very, very well!
Vertigo!!!
Francesco Francavilla is the artist behind todays first picture - I swear I felt dizzy when I first laid eyes on this very cool and dynamic piece! Check out Francescos website for more illustrations and coooool comics!

Big, Big Red
Cuson from Hong Kong send me this very cool and wellpainted portrait of everyone favorite Big Red demon. Looks like he's sporting some five o'clock horns there... :-)
Brad Dourif as Abe Sapiens
Simon Whitelaw is the creator for a series of very cool photomanipulations featuring the cast of BPRD. Here we have Brad Dourif (now that could be interesting) as Abe Sapiens. The following is Simons own words:
"Not keen on the movie version of Abe either, so i used Brad Dourif and tried to stick closer to the comics with the look.
Behind him is a relief of Oannes, a Sumerian sea deity. In the comics Abe used to be a human and a member of some mysterious group called the Oannes Society. What they were up to hasn't been entirely revealed so far, but one of their experiments involved Abe volunteering to become a fishman, after which he lost his memory and blah blah blah buy the comics they are awesome."
There are a couple more in this series by Simons, that I will post the next couple of days. In the meanwhile go check his gallery at DeviantART.

Van Gogh does Hellboy?
I am so much in love with the unique graphic style of Rorkas. Someone mentioned that it looks like Van Gogh tried to do Hellboy ... yeah, spot on! Check out his DA-gallery for more cool stuff like this!
All dressed up, and no monsters to beat the crap out of!
I got a couple of very cool Hellboy pictures from John Thompson today, that I will be sharing with you over the next couple of days. I love the atmosphere in this painted piece.
BPRD - the kindergarden years
To start this Hellboy fanart blog out, I have picked an illustration a friend of mine, Søren Berthelsen, did a couple of years ago. It is of course inspired by the lovely Powerpuff Girls - and I just love how he has transformed Hellboy, Lis and Abe into some very, very cute and cuddly characters. "Cartoon Network?! - Wake up - here is your new series!!!" - I would watch that!
